My Dogs Bit My Tutor

When I was younger my dogs bit my tutor. I had a tutor for french, math, and science. I believe this was my math tutor, but I am not sure because this happened in elementary school. She came like she did every other day, and my sibling and I grunted like we always did when we saw her. What child wants to have their tutor over when they could be playing? I had no idea this boring day would turn into such a funny memory. It was funny for us, not so much for her.

My lesson had gone normally, and the hour-thirty minutes spent learning was over. At this point in my life, we had two fluffy twin dogs for my twin and I. My bichon frises were small fluffy & cute, but fast and vicious. They were named Jesse and Jerry. Because my dogs always had the zoomies, we would hold them when tutors or guests left the house. We did this so the dogs wouldn’t chase after them. So, like any other day as she was leaving, I held my dog back and my brother held the other. It seemed like something was different on this day, my dogs were extra jumpy. As they wobbled in our hands barking and creating a scene, my tutor decided to take her time to catwalk out of our house. The biggest mistake of her life! She should have put more pep in her step.

I am 100% sure my dogs sensed that we did not like our tutor and wanted to protect us from the boredom that is math. The event happened so fast, Jesse kept wiggling and I couldn't control her. The tutor had made it to the door leading to our gate, and I thought she was safe enough to release the dog. She is long gone and there's no way these dogs will get to her. Boy was I wrong. My struggle with Jesse came to an end as she launched out of my arms and bolted toward my tutor. It wasn’t long before Jerry followed. In less than a minute all I heard was the loudest scream ever and a cry for help. Jesus! That is what my tutor screamed. She's Nigerian so you can only imagine how funny it was. When I was able to get to her, she was on the ground bleeding with a clear indication of teeth marks on her ankle. There was no denying my dogs had bitten her, when I turned my head, my dogs celebrated with themselves by jumping up and down.

My mom had come from upstairs and called one of the guards to help her up. She cried like a baby, I felt so bad for her but at the same time, I had never seen an adult cry like this. So, I was conflicted and found the situation funny, especially because my dogs seemed satisfied with what they had done. I was immediately scolded by my mom,” why did you not hold the dogs”? “How could you allow this to happen”? I stood there confused while I was being blamed for what a dog had done. I was also shocked that the tutor who was so scared of dogs, was walking so calmly when she knew the dogs would be released eventually. We had to pay her hospital bill and compensate her. She never came back again. We got a new tutor. The dogs had new houses built for them outside and they had to stay outside whenever we had tutors over. It was the wildest experience ever.
