Tarot Card Obsessed

Tarot cards drive you crazy. How cute of you to want to know your future, but it's a downward spiral towards insanity. They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I remember always checking my tarot cards and getting readings on YouTube. Not to mention a side dish of horoscope that I needed to tell me about how my day was going to go. Eventually, it just led to a merry-go-round of inquiries. Over the years I have observed this merry-go-round can get quite intense. Let me tell you how.

A lot of people think it's dazzling to get a reading, but most people don't understand that they've become obsessed with seeking the future. A feature that bears no fruition, most readings you will get will just turn out to be a coincidence or not happen at all. It is you, the individual, who is now taking little signs and aligning them to fit your reading. What makes it so dangerous is when things don't align with the reading, you lose all your marbles, and suddenly the world doesn't make sense to you. You end up going back for another round of spiritual poker to ask the same questions, you are always left unsatisfied. You can't possibly place your life’s prosperity on a deck of cards and a couple of charms as the ultimate say-so for your life. Extremely silly of you, it was extremely silly of me too. It is so menacing to revolve your life around what a reading has told you and to come in agreement with a stranger's words. Whether the reading was good or bad, granting that much power to a stranger to declare words over your life is unbalanced. Especially if you don’t know the person, for some reason, many of us believe everyone has our best interest at heart.

So now you have a boyfriend, and he's nothing short of kind. But because your horoscope told you that your match was a fiery under-the-sea scorpio, you are here tolerating a trash relationship and disrespect. Instead of using good ol’ common sense, you have consulted with the same deck of pictured cards to resolve the problem it gave you. How so? Why would the cards help you ( haha)? In your mind, he has to be your mate because you yourself are a sagittarius sandwich, and only a scorpio bad boy can handle you because you are just so damn rude. You have a job opportunity, and instead of preparing yourself for the interview, you have consulted the cards of doom to tell you if you're going to get the job or not. Dunces-like, you step into the office half-witted and outrageously uninformed, but you think the job is yours because your horoscope told you so. These are not even intense examples I am sharing, but they sound crazy.

"Nah, that ain't it" (Charlemagne’s voice). We have to come out of the ridiculousness. I'm not saying readings can't be accurate; I am saying don’t get them done. I am aware that familiar spirits can familiarize themselves with you, study you, and then inform whichever medium you're using about exactly what to say to or about you. I am saying it is not right and not what God has called us to do. You cannot handle consistently knowing your future because you're going to live in a state of restlessness and fright. Most importantly, anything outside of God does not have your best interest. So yeah, the readings might be accurate for now, but those spirits are not here to steer your life in the right direction. It starts off accurate, and then slowly they start suggesting things that will sabotage you. Before you know it, we've opened doors to circumstances you can't handle and have made covenants with spirits you thought were your friends. They are not and will never be. Put down the cards, save your money, stop paying for those readings, and delete that link to the horoscope page and pray. I promise you that if you truly desire to see your future, God will reveal it to you, and the best part is, that He will show you just enough not to overwhelm you. He also has good intentions for you; there will be no surprise demands. Remember, you are a human being, not a time machine.

“'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. '” — Jeremiah 29:11
