Acts 19:20
“So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.” - KJV
When Acts 19:20 was shown to me during my usual meet up with my online ministry, I thought perfect timing for a verse like this. Why? Because it came at a time where I needed to hear the Word of God was going to prevail in my life. It was confirmation for me from the Lord that I have roots that are growing even if I do not see the results that I want.
Breakdown:
So → meaning as a result, connecting it to the events that had just happened (people repenting, confessing sins, burning idols, etc.).
Mightily → with great strength, power, and influence (not weak or hidden).
Grew → the Word expanded, spread widely, and reached more people. Growth here means increase both in number (believers) and depth (spiritual maturity).
The word of God → the message of the gospel, the truth of Jesus Christ, not just letters but the living Word.
And prevailed → it won the victory, overcame opposition, destroyed resistance, and showed its supremacy.
Because of God’s power at work, His Word spread with strength, increased in reach and impact, and triumphed over every form of opposition.
(Not a personal breakdown)
