Extraordinary Empath

I feel like anybody that can consider themselves an extraordinary empath is probably extremely tired. I have heard people say empathy and narcissism are the same manifestations on different spectrums. I agree to a certain extent, but I believe empaths suffer more. To be honest, when you reflect on your life as an empath, it is easy to feel embarrassed, because you overlooked so many signs that clearly indicate you should have fallen back. Where do you draw the line? Draw them with boundaries, boundaries will save you. If not, you will spiral, and your spiral might just surpass the people you are trying to help.

Being empathetic is good but becomes a weakness when you allow it to introduce you to experiences you don't need. Most of the lessons you will learn from being burnt-out, you already know for the most part. I have learned that just because you understand a person’s nature or situation does not mean you are open to absorbing the burden for them. Try not to be an extraordinary empath, it serves nobody but people and situations that want to drain you.
