Abba’s Love 1
Happy Love Day, everybody. Whether you have a significant other or not, the most important thing about love is the love of God. I am not saying that He will not give you your partner to experience this day, but today I would like to shine some light on how loving the Father is.
This God that we know and have come to serve loves us so much that He cares about our emotions. He cares about the little details within us, even the quiet emotions we barely speak about. He cares if we understand His Scriptures. He blesses us simply because His heart delights in us. He shows us daily examples of what His grace is and what His favor is, how much He delights in us, how He just wants to stare at us, be with us and have our presence while we bask in His radiant glory.
He loves us so much that He died for us and came to us when we did not want anything to do with Him. We were not even wise enough in our small minds to understand what agape meant or what epignosis could even feel like. He loves us so much that even when we threw stones at Him, crucified Him, and mocked Him, He kept quiet. He was not willing to allow us to perish. He humbled Himself and clothed Himself in our humanity to reclaim what the enemy stole.
A perfect depiction of this is something Pastor Kris once said to me, that Jesus came to bully the bully. He came as our adult representation to take back what the bully, Satan, had taken away from us, our glory and our authority.
My walk with Christ has not always been clear to me, but one thing I can say is that in the little fabrics of my interactions with God, I see that He loves me deeply. He is always willing to comfort me, speak with me, and not allow me to dwell in sadness or discouragement. Even in silence, when I feel like I have not heard from Him in a few days, there He is. He pops up. He was always there, watching. Sometimes I ask the Lord, what are You doing? He says, I am just with you. I am looking at you.
How fortunate we are to have this opportunity to be loved in this way, a love that cannot be retracted, a love that cannot be diluted, a love that cannot be harsh. He is a good lover, a faithful husband, a constant friend, a patient teacher, a great God. He is just Him, and Him is enough.
How precious it is that we get to experience Him as though we are individually just with Him and also collectively as a group. God loves us. Let us dwell on this love that is so personal that even a husband and a wife must mirror it, a love that is so personal and deep that it reflects what a father is to a child, what a mother is to a child, and what we are to ourselves as friends.
Let us continue to allow this love to shape us and give glory to His holy name. Amen.
Because He loves you, He will send your partner in crime at the appointed time. ❤️
